How can I use the same Reading List in another course or term?

The best way to reuse an existing list is by using the Export and Import options available within the Reading Lists tool. This option creates a copy of the list, which can then be associated with another course.

Note: If you just want to reuse your list in the same course next term without creating a copy, see How do I reuse my Reading List next term?

To create a copy of a specific Reading List to reuse, it has to be saved to your computer in an .ign format. To do this, go into the list and select the three dots on the upper right-hand side. From the dropdown menu, select "Export" and "To .lgn file". The file will be saved to your computer - make sure the destination is easy to locate.

Make sure the Reading Lists tool has been added to the UM Learn course where the list will be added. When you are ready to import, open the Reading Lists module in UM Learn. On the page showing your current lists, select the "New List" button. Choose "Import" from the box that appears and select the list you had originally exported. Once the file has been added, select the "Create" button to add the content to the course.
