How do I reuse my Reading List next term?

To re-use a reading list for the same course, but in a future term, you will need to "Roll-Over" the Reading List and associate it with the new course.

Note: This option does not create a copy of the list, but allows you to associate it with the new course. To create a copy of a reading list, see How can I use the same Reading List in another course or term?.

---

To roll-over your reading list this, go into the list and select the three dots on the upper right-hand side.  From the drop down menu, select "Roll Over List".

Roll Over

A new pop up box will appear, asking which course you want to associate the list with.  Type in the Course Code of your new course.

Roll Over

The Course information is found in your course, in the Support Information widget.  You can type the UM Learn Course ID (OU) - usually a six digit number, the Course Code (CRN), or the Course Name.

Once you select the new course, more options will appear. Update the course name (remove the words "(Rolled Over)") and scroll through the list of options presented.  Leave the Copyright option set to RECALCULATE.  This will ensure that all the copyright and licensing is up to date for the items for the new list.

Update any other options, or leave as is.  Click Roll Over.

A confirmation box will appear.  Click OK.

A confirmation of success will appear.  This window will confirm that your list was successfully rolled over.  Click CLOSE.

To fully complete the process, add the Reading Lists tool to the current term's course in UM Learn.  Your students are now able to use the list.
